3
How We Store Your Data

Form submissions are processed via AWS Lambda (serverless functions) and stored in an Amazon S3 bucket located in the EU (Stockholm) region. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Pre-order entry data (name, email, order number) and uploaded screenshots are stored in our S3 bucket for the purpose of draw administration and dispute resolution. Screenshots are deleted within 90 days of the draw date. Entry data is retained for no more than 12 months after the draw.

Contact form messages are not stored โ€” they are delivered to Matt by email and the data is not retained in any database.

Quiz results are not stored โ€” the result is calculated in your browser and the email is sent immediately without retaining a record.

4
Third-Party Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate this website. Each is a data processor acting on our instructions:

5
Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or any third-party cookie-setting scripts. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any equivalent tool.

Your browser may store small amounts of data (such as session state) as part of normal browser operation, but we do not set cookies ourselves and we do not use cookies to track your behaviour across sites.

If you click links to third-party sites (such as Amazon, Instagram, or LinkedIn), those sites operate their own cookie policies independently of us.

Because we do not use non-essential cookies, we are not required to display a cookie consent banner on this site.

6
Marketing Emails

We only send marketing emails (The Captain's Log) to people who have explicitly opted in by ticking the relevant checkbox on the pre-order form or quiz. Opting in is never a condition of receiving your quiz result or Captain's Briefing PDF.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing matt@therealsnackmonkey.com. We will remove you from our list within 5 working days.

7
Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access โ€” you can ask us what data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification โ€” you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure โ€” you can ask us to delete your data (subject to any legal obligations to retain it).
  • Right to restriction โ€” you can ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability โ€” you can ask for a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object โ€” you can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Rights related to automated decision-making โ€” we do not make solely automated decisions that significantly affect you.

To exercise any of these rights, email matt@therealsnackmonkey.com with your request. We will respond within one calendar month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
